Who writes this

Jeff Clerisier, Trojan Digital Marketing. Not a licensed electrician, and not someone who has worked the hours this site describes.

What I bring is that I read the rules rather than repeating what other sites say the rules are. Most of what circulates about Colorado electrician licensing and the examinations behind it is copied from other summaries, and errors propagate that way for years.

Why that is a real problem in this subject

Colorado facts are exactly the kind of thing people restate without checking. Experience requirements, fees, renewal dates and which edition of the code is in force get quoted confidently from sources that were wrong when they were written or have moved since.

Where our own research turns up two different figures for the same requirement, that disagreement goes on the page. It does not get settled by picking the more common number.

How old this site is

New. This site published in September 2026, so there is no long record behind it and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. What there is instead is a citation on every figure and a corrections log that starts the day the first error is found.

What it does not do

It is not a school, a course, a continuing education provider or an exam vendor, and it does not file anything on your behalf. It cannot tell you whether the Board will accept your own experience, and it says so rather than guessing.

The Colorado examinations are open book only in the sense that PSI puts a book on the desk. PSI provides the National Electrical Code and a formula page at the test center, bars writing, highlighting, underlining and indexing on them, and allows no other materials. The questions have followed the 2026 edition since 1 August 2026, and the 2023 book is provided on request until 1 November 2026.
